Mark James Adams

Mark is a Senior Research Fellow in the Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences, The University of Edinburgh; Senior Bioinformatician for Generation Scotland; and lead analyst in the Psychiatric Genomics Consortium. He conducts large scale genomic studies of mood disorders (depression and anxiety), with a focus on incorporating information on variation in diagnostic ascertainment and in disorder heterogeneity into genetic discovery, and is an expert in developing reproducible workflows for biomedical data analysis. He has a background in theoretical biology and quantitative genetics and has previously studied personality in monkeys and apes, intelligence in dogs, and cooperative behaviour in birds.
